- Cattle Point's first light was a lens lantern on a post erected in 1888. In 1921, the US Navy installed a radio compass station....the remains of the power plant building is all that remains. The present 34' concrete tower was built in 1935 replacing the lantern post and now operates with a small solar-powered modern optic lens and fog signal.
