The Tillamook Tock Lingthouse stands on a wave washed basaltic knob that protrudes from the sea about a mile off Tillamook Head.  William Hill, who retired as the lighthouse's principal keeper in 1936 , called it "the most thrilling station on the Pacific Coast, principally because of the terrific storms and  seas that batter it."  The lighthouse light was finally turned off on September 10th 1957 one minute after midnight.

The lighthouse is now a cemetery at sea and is called the Eternity at Sea Columbarium.

It is also listed on the National Register of Historic Site.
