Umpqua River Lighthouse

Located 6 miles South of Reedsport, Oregon, this is the second lighthouse built here, the first one only standing 6 years before falling victim to the river's floods. On December 31, 1894 at the second lighthouse now standing on 100 foot high ridge overlooking the river, the first -order lens flashed white twice, then once red, every fifteen seconds. A historical and information center is in an old Coast Guard building nearby and tours are given May-September.  Sign up at the info center.
