Cape Arago Lighthouse

1934

Located 12 miles southwest of  Coos Bay, Oregon, this is the third lighthouse to stand on this island and is the state's oldest continuously operating light. The 44 foot two-story octagonal tower with a forth-order Fresnel lens began operation in 1934. Crashing through the salal brush from Sunset Bay State Park we made it to this great view of the crumbling bridge leading out to the lighthouse.
